SHS was founded on a powerful belief: every child deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of circumstance. As a pioneering healthcare initiative in Somalia and Somaliland, we bridge the gap between students and essential medical services, ensuring no child's education is hindered by preventable health issues.

Through our school health program, we place trained nurses in schools to provide affordable, routine check-ups — including dental, vision, hearing, and general health screenings — alongside immediate care for injuries and emergencies. Our mission goes beyond examinations: we're building safer, healthier, and more nurturing school environments where children can thrive.

Parents gain peace of mind knowing their child's well-being is safeguarded, while students focus on learning, free from untreated health burdens. Because when children are healthy, they can fully embrace education — and a brighter future.

Many childhood health challenges — poor vision, hearing loss, dental decay, malnutrition — are preventable but often go untreated due to cost or lack of access. Left unchecked, they harm education, confidence, and long-term well-being. SHS exists to:

To create a healthier, more equitable future, SHS has launched an innovative school-based healthcare initiative that addresses preventable barriers to learning. Our nurses provide immediate care, support, and emergency assistance, bridging the gap between schools and healthcare systems.
